Terms of use
1. Service
What For? helps you choose a purpose and a time limit before using selected apps on your own device, and reflect on that use. It does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, psychotherapy or professional advice.
2. Personal use
Use the app to manage your own device use. Do not use it for unauthorized monitoring, managing another adult’s device, interfering with systems, violating laws or infringing others’ rights.
3. Permissions
App restrictions require Apple Screen Time access, which you can allow or revoke. Some reminders and notification flows need notification permission.
4. Data
The privacy policy describes data handling. You can remove local records in Settings or by deleting the app. Local deletion does not itself delete data previously sent to service providers.
5. Prohibited behavior
Do not interfere with the app or Apple’s system features, exploit vulnerabilities, conduct unauthorized surveillance or cause harm to other people or systems.
6. Changes and interruptions
Features may change or be interrupted for maintenance, OS or API changes, quality or security reasons. Unlocks, restrictions and notifications depend on Apple’s systems, device settings and other apps, and may not always behave as intended.
7. Results
The operator does not guarantee uninterrupted operation on every device, reduced screen time, productivity improvements or achievement of personal goals.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss from using or being unable to use the app. This does not limit rights or liabilities that cannot legally be limited.
9. Updates
These terms may be updated for changes in the app or applicable law. Material changes will be announced in the app or on the official site.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by Japanese law. Disputes are handled by the competent courts in Japan, subject to applicable law. Apple’s standard end-user license agreement also applies to the app obtained from the App Store.
